Posey is an iPhone pose guide and optional photo community by Makepad.
Updated September 19, 2026 · Applies to Posey 0.2 and the community website.
Private camera use
Reference photos and camera frames are analyzed on your iPhone using Apple Vision. They are not uploaded to Makepad. The photo picker provides only the photo you select; Apple may download it from iCloud. References and detected poses stay in memory for the session. We do not record video.
You can use the camera without a community account. Camera permission enables capture; add-only Photos permission lets you explicitly save a clean photo. Saved photos are managed by Apple Photos and your iCloud settings.
Optional community accounts
Sign in with Apple creates a community account with an opaque identifier and generated public handle. We do not request your name or email address from Apple. We store your Apple account identifier, encrypted Apple refresh token and hashed session tokens to authenticate you, maintain your account and revoke Apple authorization when you delete it. The iPhone stores sign-in tokens in its Keychain.
Photos you choose to contribute
Only after you preview a result photo, confirm permission and tap Submit for review do we upload that photo, pose joint coordinates, caption and optional social post URL. The private reference image is excluded. Images are resized and re-encoded to remove embedded metadata, including EXIF location data. Visible details in the image itself are not removed.
Pending photos are visible only to you and Makepad’s reviewers. Approved contributions, pose guides, creator handles, captions and social links are public in the app and on this website. Sharing a link lets anyone view approved content. Public content may be copied by others.
Saved poses, blocks and reports
Saved pose identifiers are stored on your iPhone. Blocks and reports are stored with your account so we can hide reported or blocked content for you and investigate abuse. Reports and account credentials are never part of a public profile.
Hosting and purpose
Makepad hosts community data on its Hetzner server. We process this data to provide the community features you request, protect the service and moderate contributions. Technical request information, including IP addresses, is processed for delivery and short-lived rate limiting. Posey’s Nginx access logs are disabled. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs or tracking scripts added by Makepad.
Retention and deletion
Delete a contribution from its actions menu under You. Delete your community account and contributions under You → Delete account and contributions. Account deletion revokes Apple authorization and removes the active account, photos, reports, blocks and sessions. Photos saved on your phone and posts on other social networks are unaffected.
Community records otherwise remain while needed to provide and moderate the service. Operational backups, when enabled, expire within seven days. Public copies saved by other people may remain after deletion.
Apple and external links
Apple handles Sign in with Apple, Photos, iCloud and TestFlight under its own terms. TestFlight may share testing feedback and crash information with us under your settings. Following a social post link opens an external service with its own privacy practices. Posey does not post to your social accounts.
Support and your rights
Contact Kaan at Makepad at kaan.yagci@makepad.fr for access, correction, deletion, objections or other privacy questions. Support emails include the address and information you choose to send; we use them to respond and investigate. Depending on where you live, you may also contact your data protection authority. Please avoid sending unnecessary photos or personal information.
Community publishing is restricted to adults 18 and over. Read our community rules. We will update this page if these practices change.
